Isn't this supposed to be a quilting blog?

This blog has been suffering a lack of quilting related material lately, so let me rectify that!

I've actually had this quilt finished for awhile. In fact, I took it to my guild meeting last month. That just shows how behind I am! It took me awhile to get pictures taken, but with the help of my friend Leslie, I got there.

I went through a lot of ups and downs with this quilt, but at the end of the day, it's warm and lives on my couch, so I'm happy about that. I don't see myself doing a lot of print fabric quilts in the future, but I'm glad I did it.

I decided to do a really simple quilting pattern, because while I like free motion quilting, I don't always like the way it feels in a quilt. I find that quilts that I've quilted very heavily can sometimes feel a little scratchy, which isn't ideal for a couch quilt.

The lines aren't perfect, but I'm not the kind to be bothered by it. I'd rather have a few crooked lines than take the time to set up a perfect grid. The back is an old sheet I found in a free pile. It's so soft and worn in. I love it. Someone else already did all the work to make the sheet awesome and cuddly.

It was great to have my friend Leslie get pictures, and she got a good shot of me peeking over the quilt. You can't see it, but I'm totally smizing.

I really like it -- it looks old-school & charming.
